After reviewing dozens of fishing trips out of Puerto Juárez, four factors consistently separate great days from disappointing ones.
Boats departing at 6AM consistently outfish 8AM departures. Early light triggers feeding windows for sailfish and mahi. Book the first slot.
Charters during peak sailfish season (Oct–Feb) land 3× more fish than off-peak months. If your trip is flexible, time it around your target species.
The optimal ratio is 4 rods maximum per angler. Overcrowded boats with 8+ anglers and 4 rods create chaos. Private charters keep this ratio clean.
Sailfish and marlin should always be released. Our captains practice C&R by default — it's legal, ethical, and keeps the fishery healthy for years to come.
We'd rather you know upfront than be disappointed on the water.
Deep-sea charters go 20–50 miles offshore in open Caribbean. Swells are real. If you're sensitive, take Dramamine the night before or stick to inshore fishing.
This is fishing, not an aquarium. Some days are epic, some days are slow. Any charter that "guarantees" catches is lying to you. We promise effort and expertise.
Fishing and partying don't mix well. For a booze-and-music day on the water, check our party boat options. Fishing charters require focus and early mornings.
No. In Mexico, your fishing license is included in the charter price. You don't need to obtain anything separately — just show up ready to fish.
October through February is peak sailfish season in Cancún. December and January are the absolute best months, with multiple hookups per trip being common.
Yes — mahi-mahi, tuna, wahoo, and most reef fish can be kept. We'll clean, fillet, and bag your catch at no extra charge. Sailfish and marlin should be released per conservation guidelines.
Blue marlin territory starts around 20–30 miles offshore in depths of 400–600+ feet. You'll need a full-day charter and a larger vessel — our Sportfisher 35ft or Tiara 38–40ft.
Not at all. Our captains and first mates guide beginners through every step — baiting, casting, fighting the fish, and reeling it in. First-timers land fish every day.
Tell us your target species, group size, and dates — we'll match you with the right boat and captain.
